Trails & Tarmac Summer Back Yard Ultra The Trails & Tarmac Summer Back Yard Ultra starting on 19 September 2025 is a last one standing endurance race in the Black Mountains, Wales. A Backyard Ultra is a form of ultramarathon where competitors must consecutively run a 4.2 mile course in less than one hour, every hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover and replenish for the next hour's race. The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else. Based just outside Crickhowell, the course is 50/50 Trail and Tarmac, with only one gradual climb and a short steep section, the rest is relatively flat terrain, which means fast. Medals will be given to anyone who reaches 32 miles i.e. an Ultra. The last person standing will be allocated the winner's trophy.
