The Newark Striders are a friendly, welcoming running club based in the historic town of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire. Whether you re a complete beginner looking to get active or an experienced runner seeking a supportive community, the Striders have something for everyone. Our club meets multiple times a week at the Fernwood Village Hall car park, with shorter 5K runs on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as longer weekend outings, all led by our qualified and encouraging run leaders. We re a sociable bunch who love to get together, not just for runs but also for post-workout coffee and chats. Many of our members also participate in local races and events, such as the popular Newark Half Marathon. The historic charm of Oxford takes center stage at the Bidwells Town & Gown 10K, an annual fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy UK. This unique closed-road city centre race invites runners to experience the scenic River Cherwell and the beautiful University Parks, showcasing the iconic colleges along the way. Young runners aged 9-15 can also take on the 3km junior race, making this an event suitable for the whole family.
