Sunderland Harriers & AC is one of the premier running clubs in the North East of England, established in 1884. The club welcomes new members of all abilities and offers a free beginner's running program that meets every Friday at 6pm at the Silksworth Sports Complex. Sunderland Harriers & AC organizes a variety of competitive events, including the Ernie Johnson Memorial Penshaw Hill Race and the Sunderland 5k, as well as local Harrier League cross country events and club relay races. Members also have access to regular training sessions led by qualified coaches.
