Midwinter Mortimer Trail Run The Midwinter Mortimer Trail Run on 27 December 2025 offers 2 distances along the beautiful Mortimer Trail, between the historic market towns of Ludlow, Shropshire and Kington, Herefordshire. Choose from a 30ish mile Ultra Marathon or a 15 mile distances - both are point-to-point courses on mixed terrain of trail, forest and road. Starting at Ludlow Castle, the Ultra route takes you through the Marches of England, with extensive forests, limestone tops and gentle pastures in an area dominated in mediaeval times by the Mortimer family, one of the most powerful Norman earldoms. The 15 mile follows the last half of the Ultra route, starting at the lovely Riverside Inn, Aymestrey. Both distances finish at the Burton Hotel, Kington. This event is a sister event to the (MMT).
